'Allo 'Allo!

An original hat used in the production of the classic BBC wartime television sitcom 'Allo 'Allo! created by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft.

This hat was worn by Hilary Minster as General Erich von Klinkerhoffen in various episodes of the long running series. The traditional style German military visor cap was custom made by leading industry costumiers Bermans & Nathans and is constructed from grey wool with gold piping an features various insignia, a dark green velvet band and black plastic peak. To the interior the cap is satin lined with a leather sweat band and features three labels, one being type written 'WOLFGANG PREISS' and 'W & R', for War and Remembrance, a 1988 television mini series and a further white label which is hand inscribed 'HILARY (GENERAL)' referencing its use in 'Allo 'Allo.

The cap remains in excellent production used condition throughout with some minor wear to the plastic visor and ageing to the oldest of the Bermans & Nathans labels.

A fine principal character wardrobe artefact from this classic BBC sitcom.
