Gene Hunt (Phillip Glenister) & Sam Tyler (John Simm) deactivated Webley Mk IV revolver
An original prop used in the production of Life on Mars, the hit television drama series starring John Simm and Philip Glenister.
This deactivated Webley Mk IV revolver was supplied to the production by leading weapons and ballistic effects company Armoury in Action and used throughout the filming of Series Two. Such weapons can be seen used throughout the series by both Philip Glenister as DCI Gene Hunt and John Simm as DI Sam Tyler as well as other supporting characters.
Constructed from metal the gun is a genuine firearm which was deactivated for the production and is accompanied by the original deactivation certificate from The Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House which is dated February 2006, this lists the make and model of the weapon including the correct serial number and states that "no firearms certificate is required to possess this gun" making it legal to own for a resident of the United Kingdom, a notice of transfer will be filed with the Home Office in accordance with item 2 of the Firearms Regulations Act 2019.
The gun is also accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Neil Mountain of Armoury in Action who was the supervising armourer for the series stating that it is one of four used in the production and that it was used by each of the four main characters during filming.
The revolver remains in excellent screen used condition with only minor surface wear from use and handling.
An rare and highly displayable principal character artefact this very well received and multi award winning series.
