Production used clapperboard
An original clapperboard used in the production of Five Days One Summer, the 1982 drama picture stariing Sean Connery under the direction of multi Academy Award winner Fred Zinnemann.
This production used traditional style black wooden clapperboard with hinged clap stick bears the working title of the movie 'MAIDEN MAIDEN' in white letters in addition to the names of director Fred Zinneman and cinematographer Peppino Rotunno as cameraman. The clapperboard has spaces where the slate number, take number and date could be marked for reference during the production and exhibits signs of chalk residue and the date 17-9-81. To the verso are various pieces of tape used during the production, these hand inscribed in black marker, one featuring the date 16-9-81
The clapperboard measures approximately 15" x 14" and remains in generally good condition with extensive paint loss and wear consistent with prolonged use during the production. Accompanied by a period 10" x 6" still printed on photographic paper which shows this very clapperboard in use during location filming, this in excellent condition with some tape marks to the verso and hand inscribed '3367' in pencil.
A fine example of the iconic clapperboard which clearly saw heavy use during the production.
