Female Tharil (Erika Spotswood) tunic - Warriors' Gate
An original costume used in the long running science fiction television series Doctor Who.
From the 1981 serial Warriors' Gate starring Tom Baker as The Doctor this is an original tunic as worn by the Tharil race as part of the costume designed by June Hudson which likely drew influence from the 1946 Jean Cocteau picture La Belle et la Bete. This tunic was worn on screen by Erika Spotswood as the female Tharil who can be seen escorting The Doctor, intricately constructed from a mock suede material the tailored costume features a hand cut and applied pattern to the front and cuffs with a label to the interior hand inscribed 'DR WHO', it remains in excellent production used condition lacking the emblems to the cuffs, otherwise very fine.
A recognisable and displayable example of original wardrobe from the Tom Baker era of this cult science fiction series.
