Face/Off

An original clapperboard used in the production of Face/Off, the 1997 action thriller starring John Travolta and Nicholas Cage under the direction of John Woo.

This insert clapperboard is a smaller more compact version which would have been used for close up shots where lager more cumbersome boards were unsuitable. Constructed from white perspex the board features an affixed wooden clap stick and is etched with the name of the production 'FACE/OFF' in blue lettering. The clapperboard also bears the names of director John Woo and cinematographer Oliver Wood, it retains a number of hand inscribed markings from its last use during the production including the date '4.1.97'. The 'A' etch to the bottom corner which refers to the camera is covered with a piece of tape hand inscribed with a G from is final use. The letters 'MOS' inscribed next to the movie title indicate that this board was last used in a shot with no audio track.

The clapperboard measures approximately 6" square and remains in excellent condition with some light surface and edge wear from use during the production.
