Evil Dead II

An original prop used in the production of Evil Dead II, the 1987 comedy horror sequel directed by Sam Raimi.

This is one of the original lost pages from the Necronmicon Ex- Mortis or The Book of the Dead, the central plot device of the Evil Dead franchise. For the production several pages were created by effects designer, animator and artist Tom Sullivan and used in several scenes during the movie including when Ash (Bruce Campbell) and Annie (Sarah Berry) examine the pages before Jake (Dan Hicks) throws them in the cellar and later as Ash retrieves them and Annie reads the incantation when the Rotten Apple Head appears in the climatic sequence.

This page was hand painted by Tom Sullivan and is accomplished on intentionally distressed paper which has been aged with paint, it features an illustration based on a conceptual design of the Rotten Apple Head with various symbols to create ancient style text. The page measures approximately 8" x 6.25" and remains in generally excellent production used condition with some light edge and corner wear, overall very fine. The page is accompanied by a hand signed certificate of authenticity from artist Tom Sullivan.

An exceptionally rare and highly desirable artefact from this cult horror franchise.
