Doctor Who

An original costume used in the production of the long running BBC television series Doctor Who.

From the 1986 Trial of a Timelord serial Terror of the Vervoids starring Colin Baker as The Doctor this is the original costume worn on screen by Simon Slater as Edwardes, the communications officer aboard the Hyperion III who meets his demise in the cliffhanger at the end of the first episode. This two piece costume was constructed for the serial by the BBC Wardrobe Department and consists of a creme jacket, with a green rank panel, silver braiding and quilted shoulders which zips up the rear, and matching trousers of the same material. Both the jacket and trousers feature interior labels printed 'MADE IN BBC TELEVISION WORKROOM' which are hand inscribed 'SIMON SLATER' in black pen.

The costume remains in superb production used condition throughout, very fine.
