Death Star filigree miniature section
An original Death Star section used in the production of the 1983 science fiction picture Return of the Jedi, the third instalment of the original Star Wars trilogy directed by Richard Marquand.
Brass sections such as this were used on the under construction Death Star filming miniature built by various model makers at Industrial Light & Magic, notably Bill George. These acid etched brass pieces were used for the filigree detailing on this incredibly intricate model which provided an extremely realistic effect on screen. The final images show the miniature being built at ILM with brass detailing such as this obviously visible on the miniature
The section measures approximately 1.5" x 1.5" and remains in very good condition.
A rare artefact from one of the most influential and highly regarded franchises in cinematic history.
