Gladiator

An original prop used in the production of Gladiator, the 2000 historical epic starring Russell Crowe under the direction of Ridley Scott.

This mask can be seen worn as a battle between Maximus (Russell Crowe) and Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) is played out in pantomime style on the streets of Rome. Constructed from fibreglass the highly detailed mask designed to represent Commodus is meticulously hand painted and features a leather lining to the interior for the wearers comfort with a lace designed to secure it to the head.

The mask measures approximately 11.5" x 9" x 6" and remains in excellent screen used and matched condition exhibiting some minor chips and paint wear, overall fine.

A recognisable and highly displayable artefact from this multi Academy Award winning masterpiece and modern day classic.
