Doctor Who

An original costume used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 1987 serial Paradise Towers starring Sylvester McCoy as The Doctor this is an original costume as worn by one of the caretakers. These one piece overalls were custom made by the BBC Wardrobe Department and are constructed from dark grey material and have been intentionally distressed and weathered with paint to appear well worn. The costume features faux leather collar and cuffs, buttons to the front with various pockets and a serial number stencilled to the left breast in white paint, this one reading ''379/13 SUB -5'. To the interior is a label which is hand inscribed 'BUSH' for Andrew J. Bush who portrayed one of the caretakers, a further name is faded and illegible, likely from use in a previous or subsequent production. The costume is accompanied by an original belt constructed of leatherette with a metal buckle.

The costume remains in good production used and intentionally distressed condition.
