Masterminds

An original Bobcat miniature used in the production of the 1997 comedy action film Masterminds starring Patrick Stewart.

This large scale Bobcat ATV miniature was built for production by veteran industry model maker Bill Pearson (Alien, Outland, Moon) to exacting specifications to mirror the full scale vehicle. This scale miniature is constructed largely from metal on top of a wooden chassis and fibreglass wheels, it features a plastic operators seat to the interior with engine detailing visible to the rear and operational lift up bucket which is supported on flexible metal rods to the front.

Owing to the filming requirements the miniature had to be incredibly robust to withstand the pressures of having approximately 90 gallons of water dropped on to it during filming, hence its metal construction. This makes for an incredibly well built, substantial and heavyweight miniature which tips the scales at approximately 23kg (50lbs).

This imposing miniature measures approximately 39" long, 18" wide and stands 27" high making an incredible display piece, it remains in excellent screen used condition lacking some very minor trim to the roof from production use. Obtained by The Prop Gallery directly from builder Bill Pearson, the final images showing the piece in Bill's Shepperton Studios workshop.
