Battlehawk filming miniature
An original miniature used in the production of Terrahawks, the 1980s British science fiction television series produced by Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson in conjunction with Christopher Burr.
This is one of the original Battlehawk filming miniatures used on screen throughout the series, designed by special effects director Steven Begg the miniatures were constructed in two scales with this being the smaller of the two used primarily for the flying sequences, the larger model is believed to have been destroyed following filming.
The miniature is constructed from fibreglass and features a distinctive silver and orange paint finish with highly detailed panel lines and weathering, to the interior are the remains of wires used to power a small light to the underside of the craft. Owing to damage following filming the Terrahawk section, rear wing and landing gear are replacement parts which have been expertly fabricated to match the remainder of the miniature, this not detracting from the piece which represents the only original Battlehawk miniature known to exist today.
The miniature measures approximately 18" long and remains in good production used condition with the aforementioned replacement parts, otherwise fine.
An incredibly rare and highly displayable miniature artefact from this classic Anderson series.
