Battle of Endor Ewok Rock
An original prop used in the production of the 1983 science fiction picture Return of the Jedi, the third instalment of the original Star Wars trilogy directed by Richard Marquand.
Prop rocks such as this were custom made by the production and can be seen used as weapons by the Ewoks as they aid the Rebel Alliance during the large scale battle which takes place on the forest moon of Endor. The rock is constructed from robust but lightweight high density foam for safety and is expertly painted with different coloured highlights to resemble stone. This rock was retained following location filming at Redwood National Park in California by an extra who portrayed a Stormtrooper and is accompanied by a California Jurat certificate and handwritten affiant statement from his brother regarding the provenance.
The rock measures approximately 14" x 12" x 10" and remains in excellent vintage condition exhibiting some surface wear and paint loss consistent with use during filming, generally fine.
A rare and displayable artefact from one of the most influential and highly regarded franchises in cinematic history.
