Production used clapperboard
An original clapperboard used in the production of Tim Burton's 1989 superhero blockbuster Batman starring Michael Keaton as the caped crusader opposite Jack Nicholson in his unforgettable portrayal of The Joker.
This clapperboard was utilised during production of the movie by the second unit headed by Peter MacDonald, this traditional wooden board bears the production name "Batman" with '2ND UNIT' alongside marked with Peter Macdonald as director and cameraman with fabric tape to the bottom bearing the date from its last use - 30th January 1989, tying in perfectly with the end of filming, underneath this tape is a further tape seen to bear the date of the 28th showing this board was used up to the end of principal photography. The board exhibits old chalk marks to the rear and a number of areas where tape has been stuck on and removed throughout the production.
The clapperboard measures approximately 15" x 14" and remains in good condition clearly seeing heavy use during production with surface markings and scratching with minor paint loss to the edges and some paint loss to the clap stick hinge. A second unit board can be seen used on set in a behind the scenes shot.
A very displayable artefact from this production from this Academy Award winning picture and classic of the superhero genre.
