Frisco Kid

An original costume from the production of Frisco Kid, the 1935 picture starring James Cagney and Margaret Lindsay.

This waistcoat was bespoke made for use by James Cagney as Bat Morgan by noted industry tailors Western Costume. Constructed from silk the patterned waistcoat features decorative buttons with pockets to either side, to the interior the costume features a Western Costume stamp and label which is type written with the production code 5022 and is hand inscribed 'J. CAGNEY' in pen. Despite being made for the production and it is possible the waistcoat was worn underneath a fastened jacket we have not been able to locate this exact piece on screen.

The waistcoat remains in good vintage condition with some minor wear and discolouration due to age, otherwise fine.

A rare example of vintage costume made for one of the greatest actors in the history of American cinema.
