Attacker filming miniature
An original filming miniature used in the production of Independence Day, the 1996 science fiction action picture directed by Roland Emmerich.
This is an original Attacker filming miniature built by the talented visual effects team and used as a pyrotechnic model for shots where the craft are seen hit. Constructed from fibreglass the miniature is finely detailed and finished in a weathered grey paint, two rigging points remain visible with the remnants of wire used to hang it for filming still present. This is accompanied by four 8" x 10" photographs two of which show this exact miniature being rigged by noted pyrotechnic effects artist Joe Viskocil (Star Wars, The Terminator) who was a recipient of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his contribution to the picture.
The miniature measures an impressive 25" wide and 22" long, it remains in good production exploded condition with a large section of the front missing and exhibits significant paint loss, top section remains excellent.
A highly displayable and recognisable artefact from this Academy Award winning blockbuster.
