Doctor Who

An original pair of shoes used in the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

These shoes formed part of the costumes worn by the Argolian people in the 1980 serial The Leisure Hive starring Tom Baker as The Doctor. The shoes were constructed by the BBC Costume Department from a concept by noted Doctor Who costume designer June Hudson and worn by David Haig as Pangol. Consisting of an inner sock with affixed sole providing shape and support to an outer sock piece of similar material with a partial latex covering giving an irregular look to the alien footwear. Inscribed to the interior 'DAVID HAIG' in green marker.

The shoes remain in excellent condition throughout with only light wear and dirtying to the latex sole from studio use.
