Close Encounters of the Third Kind

An original costume from the production of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the 1977 science fiction classic directed by Steven Spielberg.

Costumes such as this can be seen worn by child actors portraying the extraterrestrial lifeforms in the climactic sequence of the movie. Custom fabricated for the production by The Burman Studio the wearable mask is constructed from latex with slit to the rear fastened by Velcro and accompanied by a unitard of spandex, alien like hands of latex complete the display.

The display stands an impressive 43" high and remains in generally excellent vintage production used condition with minor wear to the mask.

A recognisable and highly displayable artefact from this critically acclaimed Academy Award winning blockbuster which will forever remain a classic of the science fiction genre.
