1969 John Milius first draft script
A rare first draft script for the 1979 war epic Apocalypse Now produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
This original first draft screenplay is dated 12/5/69, some 10 years before the eventual release of the movie and was penned by John Milius. The script went through several rewrites during the course of production and was heavily reworked by Coppola circa 1975, this script bears a number of differences to the final work. This rare original International Famous Agency bound 1969 draft consists of 131 pages in addition the the cover page and authors notes. The inside of the cover is inscribed 'S. Jaffe' in pen for Steven-Charles Jaffe, a friend of Milius who later went on to produce Ghost and Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country.
The script remains in generally excellent condition with some cover and edge wear, the spine and bottom of the script are inscribed with the film title in pen.
An incredibly rare example of Milius' original script and the earliest known draft of this epic film which is considered a masterpiece of American cinema.
