Vorus (David Collings) tabard - Revenge of the Cybermen
An original costume used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
From the 1975 serial Revenge of the Cybermen starring Tom Baker as The Doctor this is the original tabard worn on screen by David Collings as Vorus. The entirely custom made costume was likely created by the BBC Wardrobe Department and is constructed from heavy felt with an integral belt adorned with detail of piped latex finished in gold paint and features the the iconic symbol to the chest visioned by designer Roger Murray-Leach which would later become the Seal of Rassilon. The costume can be screen matched to the one worn by Collings throughout the serial and represents the only one ever made.
The costume remains in excellent production used condition and vintage condition with some wear and loss of the latex detailing in areas, otherwise fine.
An exceptionally rare and unique artefact from the early Tom Baker era of this classic science fiction series.
