Superman II

An original prop used in the production of Superman II, the 1980 superhero sequel starring Christopher Reeve in the title role.

This is an original green memory crystal which plays a significant role in the franchise including the creation of the Fortress of Solitude with this crystal being similar in size and shape to the one held by Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) in the Fortress as Superman (Christopher Reeve) explains their use, the cut of every facet is consistent with this crystal.

The crystal was custom made by the production and is expertly fabricated from a high quality green tinted resin, this was gifted on set to the son of production executive Robert Simmonds who later became a producer on Superman III and is accompanied by a hand inscribed letter attesting to this. The crystal measures approximately 3.75" and remains in good production used and vintage condition with the tip missing to one end and some minor surface wear including some scratching to what might be considered the underside, otherwise fine.

An instantly recognisable, highly displayable and significant artefact from this classic superhero franchise.
