Retractable special effects syringe
An original prop syringe used in the production of Flatliners, the the 1990 psychological horror directed by Joel Schumacher.
This special effects retractable syringe can be seen used by Nelson Wright (Kiefer Sutherland) as he prepares to inject Rachel Manus (Julia Roberts) with bretylium after she flatlines and they are unable to shock her with the defibrillator. The prop is constructed from plastic and features a sliding plunger with a blunt metal needle which is spring loaded and retracts in to the body of the syringe when pressure is applied making its use on set entirely safe.
The syringe measures approximately 6.5" long with the plunger extended and remains in excellent production used condition, very fine.
A rare and displayable artefact from the production of this cult picture.
