Production luggage label
An original luggage label from the production of Raise the Titanic, the 1980 adventure picture directed by Jerry Jameson.
This is an original production made luggage label issued to crew members travelling on location during filming, the label is printed on fluorescent orange gummed paper and features the title of the movie 'RAISE THE TITANIC' with an outline of the famous vessel below. The picture remains famous for, inaccuracies aside as the genuine wreck was not found until 1985, the incredibly expensive construction of a miniature Titanic which measured over fifty feet long and weighed approximately ten tons, after the film bombed producer Lew Grade humorously commented that it would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic.
The label measures approximately 6" x 4" and remains in good vintage condition exhibiting minor edge and corner wear with the gum to the verso having worn off due to age, otherwise fine.
A rare and interesting artefact from the production of this memorable box office bomb.
