Athos (Oliver Reed) doublet
An original costume used in the production of The Four Musketeers, the 1974 sequel directed by Richard Lester.
This doublet was worn on screen by Oliver Reed in his role as Athos in the flashback sequence with his wife Milady de Winter (Faye Dunaway). This incredibly complex costume was bespoke made by noted industry costumiers Bermans and Nathans, constructed from heavyweight material, lined to the interior and adorned with gold braiding the costume fastens to the front via a series of hooks and eyes and features decorative faux buttons to the front chest area and cuffs.
The doublet remains is excellent vintage production used condition with some light staining to the shoulders and cuffs.
A fine example of original wardrobe from this well received sequel which earned costume designers Yvonne Blake and Ron Talsky an Academy Award nomination.
