The Black Adder

This costume was worn by Tony Robinson as Baldrick in series one of the classic 1983 BBC television sitcom The Black Adder. The faithful servant to Edmund Blackadder wore this costume in two episodes: The Archbishop and The Queen of Spain's Beard.

Designed and bespoke made for Robinson by the BBC costume department it features the iconic sword and snake family crest. The costume is labelled 'BLACKADDER' 'BALDRICK' 'TONY ROBERTSON' note the misspelling of the name, at the time of casting Tony Robinson was a little known performer and it was this role which established him as an actor and later a television presenter.

The costume displays signs of deliberate production distressing and is in fine screen used condition.
